Concert 2:
Combining Igor Stravinsky’s small choral works with his chamber music, this program is in two parts, the first exploring Stravinsky’s relationship with the music of Carlo Gesualdo. The second half begins with The Dove Descending, Stravinsky’s only a cappella work in English, and three contemporary composers reflect on flight and the Great Mystery of creation and heaven, before the concert culminates in Stravinsky’s Mass for choir and wind instruments.
